LAHORE: A gaggle of cops in Pakistan flipped out when a takeaway joint refused handy over free burgers, detaining all 19 staff at the branch.Workers at the fashionable chain Johnny and Jugnu within the eastern city of Lahore were rounded up and held for seven hours overnight on Saturday, leaving unattended kitchens and hungry customers.
“This is not the primary time something like this went on with our kitchen teams at our restaurant, but we would like to form sure this is often the last,” the nutriment chain said during a statement published on social media.
The beef started when staff at the restaurant refused a “request from a really status special guest”.Restaurant staff told AFP that the majority of these arrested were children , including many university students.Following outcry among fans, nine cops involved were suspended yesterday, senior provincial police official Inam Ghani said on Twitter.
“No one is allowed to require the law into his own hands,” Ghani said.
Pakistan’s cops are infamous for corruption and for demanding kickbacks from local businesses.Prime Minister Imran Khan has involved a reform of Punjab’s police , saying “cronies” had been appointed by politicians to regulate police stations.
