According to Islamic Teachings, can a Husband Use his Wife’s Salary?
The issue of whether a husband may misuse his wife’s income emerges in households where both men and women work and earn a living. Is the lady allowed to spend her husband’s money without approval?
Is a wife able to use her husband’s income?
We want to emphasise the following points before coming to any conclusions:
The spouse is responsible for handling bill payments at home.
The woman is entitled to a larger portion of the husband’s income, even if the husband’s parents are impoverished.
A woman may use her husband’s income to cover household expenses if her husband approves. If the husband prohibits it, the lady is not allowed to use his money for anything, not even the basics for the house.
While keeping in mind verses from the Quran, husbands should permit and allow their women to use their money for household expenses. However, in Allah’s view, the spouse will be guilty if he forbids it and fails to attend to household responsibilities.
Is it possible for a husband to use his wife’s income?
The woman is free to spend and use her earnings, assets, and money in conformity with Islamic law. Furthermore, a husband is not legally entitled to the funds, income, or salary.
Therefore, the husband is not permitted to use or dispose of the wife’s money without her consent.
The choice of whether or not to offer her husband money rests with the wife. If she so chooses, she is not compelled to. The husband alone should be responsible for paying for household expenses, thus the woman cannot be forced to do so.

شوہر گھر کے بلوں کی ادائیگی کا ذمہ دار ہے۔
عورت شوہر کی آمدنی کا بڑا حصہ حاصل کرنے کی حق دار ہے، چاہے شوہر کے والدین غربت میں ہوں۔
اگر شوہر کی منظوری ہو تو عورت شوہر کی آمدنی کو گھر کے خرچ کے لیے استعمال کر سکتی ہے۔ اگر شوہر اجازت نہ دے، تو عورت کو اس کی رقم کو کسی چیز کے لیے، یہاں تک کہ گھر کی بنیادی ضروریات کے لیے بھی، استعمال کرنے کی اجازت نہیں ہے۔
قرآنی آیات کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے، شوہروں کو اپنی بیویوں کو گھر کے خرچ کے لیے اپنی رقم استعمال کرنے کی اجازت دینی چاہیے۔ البتہ، اللہ کے نزدیک، شوہر گناہگار ہوگا اگر وہ اس کی اجازت نہ دے اور گھر کی ذمہ داریوں کو پورا نہ کرے۔
کیا شوہر اپنی بیوی کی آمدنی استعمال کر سکتا ہے؟
عورت اپنی کمائی، اثاثے اور رقم کو اسلامی قانون کے مطابق استعمال کرنے کے لیے آزاد ہے۔ شوہر کو بیوی کی رقم، آمدنی، یا تنخواہ پر کوئی قانونی حق نہیں ہے۔
لہذا، شوہر کو بیوی کی رقم بغیر اس کی رضا مندی کے استعمال یا ضائع کرنے کی اجازت نہیں ہے۔ بیوی کے پاس اختیار ہے کہ وہ اپنے شوہر کو پیسے دے یا نہ دے۔ شوہر کو گھر کے خرچ کی مکمل ذمہ داری اٹھانی چاہیے، لہذا بیوی کو اس بات پر مجبور نہیں کیا جا سکتا کہ وہ خرچ کرے۔
