Spotify Launches ‘Your K-Pop Persona’ to Celebrate the K-Pop Fandom
Unquestionably, K-Pop has taken the world by storm as a cultural phenomenon thanks to its unique melodies, engaging live performances, and endearing characters. The popularity of K-Pop has grown significantly in Pakistan and throughout Southeast Asia in recent years.
Spotify streaming of K-hip-hop has increased 95 times worldwide since 2014, while K-pop streams have increased over 420% in Southeast Asia since 2018, indicating the genre’s expanding popularity and impact in the area and beyond.
With the debut of “Your K-Pop Persona,” Spotify is bringing a personalised touch to the K-Pop phenomenon. Fans may find and embrace their perfect fan position within the genre with this cutting-edge interactive experience that celebrates the dynamic and passionate K-Pop community worldwide, not just in Pakistan.
“Your K-Pop Persona” encourages fans to investigate freshly and interestingly how they relate to K-Pop. Participants will learn their “Main Role” in the K-Pop fandom—such as Main Visual, Main Vocal, Main Rapper, Main Dancer, or Trainee—by responding to five questions regarding their fandom customs. All K-Pop lovers are welcome to engage in the excitement and explore their persona, regardless of experience level.
It’s not only about uncovering your Main Role, though; Spotify users can also uncover a second Fan Role based on how much K-pop they listen to. This customised experience offers a digital photo card that can be edited and shared on social media platforms, honouring each person’s unique fandom journey.
Spotify has released “Your K-Pop Persona,” a collaboration with some of the hottest K-Pop stars, to add even more excitement to the experience.
On the K-Pop ON! Spotify YouTube channel, fans can compare their scores and hear from K-pop icons like Cha Eun-Woo, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, SEVENTEEN, BOY NEXT DOOR, and THE BOYZ.
“We are excited to introduce ‘Your K-Pop Persona’ to Pakistani fans and honour their passion for K-Pop in an imaginative and participatory manner,” stated Mark Abou Jaoude, Spotify’s Head of Music MENA & South Asia (apart from India). “This experience demonstrates not only the talent and diversity within the genre but also the ability of music to bring together fans from all walks of life.”
“Your K-Pop Persona” will be accessible until May 10th, 2024, giving fans ample opportunity to take part and discuss their findings with friends and other K-Pop aficionados.
