Sindh to hold examinations for grades 9 and 10 in July

The examinations for grades 9 and 10 would be held in July, announced Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani, saying that grade 9 exams are going to be held immediately after grade 10.

The dates for the examinations were discussed during a gathering of the committee of the Department of Education, under the chairmanship of the provincial education minister. it had been also decided that examinations exams of grade 11 would be held in August, immediately after examinations of grade 12.

It was decided that exams would only be taken in elective subjects, while the results are going to be announced after 45 days.
“Exams would be held for less than optional subjects,” Ghani said, adding that “examinations from grade one to eight are going to be held in schools which may announce the dates on their own.”

“If any student fails in optional subjects then he or she would tend to pass marks and marks of compulsory subjects are going to be given on the idea of marks attained in optional subjects. Practical examinations are going to be held in students’ respective schools and colleges and may be conducted after theory papers,” the provincial minister added.

Meanwhile, the scholars of classes one to eight across Sindh are going to be taking their exams in schools this year. Schools will announce the date of examinations for lower grades on their own, the committee decided.

Ghani had said that the govt approved in-person classes with 50 per cent attendance after reviewing the newest situation of the pandemic.
