Gambling is a means of gaining unjust wealth that causes man to lose sight of his Creator, hinders him from praying, breeds sloth, takes away his ability to labour, and incites hatred and resentment among people. Islam prohibits all types of gambling because they have the potential to harm a person’s social and personal life.
All games that have the potential to cause harm or benefit are regarded as games of chance. Gambling is the willful theft of money or property and is defined as the improper spending of one’s resources. It is a societal tragedy to gamble. They are forbidden in Islam because they are always viewed as evils that ruin families.
Those who play cards until the wee hours of the next day lose their money, fortune, ethics, and well-being due to the thrill that ambition and greed induce. They also stop having human emotions. The winners of today might lose tomorrow.
The money lost in gaming is also entitled to wives, kids, and the underprivileged. The money won via gambling is not real money.
As the game progresses, the social harm gets worse. Laziness takes the place of labour. Productivity declines. Other bad things like alcohol, lying, greed, spite, envy, retaliation, and murder are sometimes associated with gambling.
