According to the sources, after the destruction caused by the COVID-19 situation in almost every sector, including the auto sector, the financial year 2021(FY21) clothed to be a large revival and recovery time for the auto sector. The whole auto sector bearded tons in time from March to May 2020 thanks to the Covid-19 situation which also included a state lock in April.

After the removal of the lockdown and the opening of markets in June 2020, the interest in shopping among the users re-energized and since then, there has been no looking back for the auto sector. Car manufacturers spun out 18,154 units in June, but sales remained at only 11,569 units within the month as buyers favoured the shipment of vehicles in July (the first month of FY22) thanks to the anticipation of a discount on account of a reduction in federal excise duty & general nuisance tax.

Despite the 17% decrease in sales of Toyota Corolla to 18,355 units from 22,140 units, the country’s total car sales remained brisk at 151,182 units in FY21 as compared to 96,455 units in FY20. Low interest rates of seven had transformed the market subtleties thus attracting buyers to the direction of the latest locally built vehicles & setting aside concerns regarding rising car prices, late delivery & high premium payments on spot delivery.

Corolla mostly endured due to the transition of buyers towards Toyota Yaris whose sales reached 28,295 units in FY21 from 1,327 units from a year ago.

Honda Civic/City sales had increased by 79% to 25,276 units from 14,091 units while Suzuki Swift sales rise by 27% to 2,316 from 1,828 units.

Total truck sales reached to three,695 units from 3,088 units amid a 36pc drop by Hino sales to 668 from 1,038 units. In 1,000cc, Suzuki WagonR & Cultus sales rose by 81% and 42% to 12,659 & 17,510 units in FY21 from 6,984 & 12,307 units in FY20.In jeeps, Honda BR-V sales recorded a hollering increase of 75% to 4,015 units from 2,296 units in FY20.

Toyota Hilux sales stood at 7,043 units as against 3,748 units with 88pc rise, while JAC sales also as published an 87% expansion in sales to succeed in at 732 units from 392 units.

Road Prince bike sales rose by 30% to 141,230 units from 108,990 units while its 3 wheelers sales fell by 2% to 10,116 units from 10,320.

United Auto Motorcycle sales went ahead by 25% to 368,643 units from 295,495 units while its three-wheelers sales also increased by 9pc to six,653 units from 6,098 units.
