Saudi Arabia Unveils World’s First ‘Dragon Ball’ Theme Park

As part of the massive entertainment and tourism project Qiddiya in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is preparing to open the first Dragon Ball theme park in history, and fans of the renowned manga are looking forward to seeing more of this fascinating initiative.

With support from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Qiddiya Investment Co., a real estate company leading the project, recently released stunning 3D images of the theme park, sparking a flurry of enthusiasm on social media.

Fans of the adored manga and anime series are expected to find paradise at the Dragon Ball theme park, which is set to contain thirty thrilling rides inspired by the legendary universe of Goku and his buddies. This momentous statement was made just a few weeks after the creative creator of the fascinating Dragon Ball universe, Akira Toriyama, passed away.

The Dragon Ball theme park’s debut is a moving homage to Toriyama’s enduring legacy amid the world’s outpouring of grief following his passing on March 1 at the age of 68. The park, which is slated to be built in Qiddiya, a large-scale tourism and entertainment complex outside of Riyadh, is a huge undertaking that aims to bring the fantasy world of Son Goku to life in an immersive and breathtaking environment.

Manga Productions, a Saudi anime production and distribution firm, said that manga and anime have become increasingly popular in Saudi Arabia. There are an estimated 13 million fans of the Japanese genre in the kingdom alone, and approximately 85 million in the Arab world at large.

The massive Dragon Ball theme park, which will be more than 500,000 square metres in size, will feature seven different zones that have been painstakingly designed to replicate well-known locations from the original series, such as Beerus’s Planet, Kame House, and Capsule Corporation. This ambitious project, which occupies a land more than double the size of the well-known theme park located in Florida, is positioned to compete with the magnitude of well-known entertainment attractions like Disney World.

Five cutting-edge rides that are part of a varied roster of over 30 attractions meant to enthral guests of all ages will be among the park’s highlights. Fans of Dragon Ball may also anticipate restaurants and hotels with a Dragon Ball theme, providing an immersive experience that goes beyond standard theme park entertainment.

Dragon Ball, which began as a serialised comic in 1984, has grown to become one of the most significant and well-respected manga series ever, and it was instrumental in bringing manga culture to a wider audience worldwide. Saudi Arabia is set to leave a lasting impression on the entertainment industry with the upcoming “Dragon Ball” theme park, which will celebrate the enduring heritage of Akira Toriyama’s visionary creation while providing visitors with an amazing experience.
